Atomation, an Israeli agtech company announced plans to expand in St. Louis, Missouri. The company is the fifth Israeli agtech company to choose Missouri, in recent years, as the best place to expand their business in the United States.
Atomation CEO Guy Weitzman announced the expansion and stated he expects to bring 20 new jobs to the region.
“Compared to other U.S. regions, St. Louis has a hunger for innovation and an authentic will to implement new, practical technologies and processes,” said Weitzman. “Thanks to GlobalSTL’s relationships and their business development expertise, we’ve been connected to St. Louis clients in the agriculture, industrial automation and energy sectors with crucial technology needs.”
Atomation develops Internet of things, or IoT, platforms that connect physical objects with the Internet. In addition to announcing their expansion in Missouri Atomation announced a strategic innovation partnership with Ameren Corp., a Missouri-based utility provider.
“We are delighted to welcome Atomation to St. Louis,” said Donn Rubin, president & CEO of BioSTL. “By leveraging St. Louis’ strengths, we are able to recruit companies like Atomation that enrich our community with cutting-edge technology and talent, boosting St. Louis’ standing as a global center of innovation.”
Missouri Governor Eric Greitens was in attendance for the announcement and pledged his support to growing Missouri’s economy.
“We’ve got tremendous potential here in Missouri, and with strong partners like those here today we can continue to build a strong and vibrant economy for our state” said Governor Greitens. “Missouri is heading in a new direction and this is just one fantastic example of the direction we are going to take together. So Guy (Weitzman), I look forward to partnering with you and I am incredibly excited about the very bright future that is in store.”
With its strategic location, globally connected infrastructure, competitive business and labor costs, highly-skilled and hard working talent, quality of life and a statewide commitment to attracting companies and investment, Missouri is a place where companies come to grow and thrive.
