Westinghouse Electric Company today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company, Inc. to further the development and licensing of the Westinghouse Small Modular Reactor (SMR), a passively safe design that has the potential to provide economical, secure sources of emissions-free electricity generation to the world’s rapidly changing and diverse markets.
