Unilever plans to invest $99 million in an expansion project at its facility in Independence, creating 70 new full-time jobs.
Unilever is a global consumer goods company that manufactures products for some of the best known brands in America, such as Knorr, Hellmann’s and Lipton. The future of its plant in Independence and the 190 jobs there has been a concern ever since Unilever announced in August that it sold the major product being produced there, Wish-Bone salad dressings.
