In the Fall of 2016, Vital Farms, the largest brand of pasture-raised eggs in the U.S., broke ground on its new 82,000 sq. ft. facility in Springfield, Missouri. Dubbed “Egg Central Station,” the company originally planned to create 50 new jobs, but the company’s prime location in Missouri, along with the state’s pro-business attitude, would help that number triple in a few short years.
In late 2019, the company announced plans to invest in Missouri again. The new investment would see Egg Central Station expand by more than 64,000 sq. ft. and add more jobs to the region.
“We’ve worked hard to build a business climate in Missouri that will help growing businesses like Vital Farms succeed,” said Missouri Governor Mike Parson at the time. “This expansion is just another example that our state is a prime location for food and ag-related companies.”
Expanding its egg processing facility in Missouri enabled Vital Farms to continue to meet strong consumer demand for quality foods raised with high animal welfare standards.
“The strong partnerships we’ve found in Springfield have made it the perfect place for Egg Central Station,” said Russell Diez- Canseco, President and CEO of Vital Farms. “Springfield’s Partnership for Economic Development has been outstanding across all aspects of our business and made our expansion in Springfield an easy choice.”
