St. Louis Ikea to have state’s largest rooftop solar array

The Ikea store under construction in St. Louis will include a 1.28 megawatt rooftop solar system, making it Missouri’s largest rooftop solar array when the store opens in the fall, according to the chain.
Installation of 4,085 panels is set to begin this spring on the Ikea store at Forest Park and Vandeventer avenues. The 259,000-square-foot solar array will produce about 1,780,000 kWh of electricity annually for the store.
