HITS, a professional services company, recently announced plans to construct a new $10 million record storage facility in St. Louis, Missouri. The document and data management firm will begin the first phase of a planned 80,000 sq. ft. facility later this year.
The new facility will solidify HITS’ place as one of America’s top data management firms. Already known for its document scanning, secure destruction, and paperless record storage solutions, this new facility will enable HITS to scale and process more than 400 million images per year. Its heightened security will also enable HITS to bid for and secure federal contracts to manage and process records for the U.S. Department of Defense and Civilian agencies.
“With all the recent activity surrounding the new NGA West headquarters here in St. Louis and our strong presence in healthcare, HITS is very excited for the next chapter in our continued growth,” said CEO Michael Steinmann. “This state-of-the-art facility allows us to not only expand our current operations, but also offer our proven solutions to new markets.”
Steinmann said a key to the development of HITS’ new headquarters is that it will be built to meet security requirements set out by the National Archives & Records Administration. The company said it will be the first commercially owned NARA-compliant record center in the St. Louis region.
