A Portugal plastics manufacturer will add to its Kansas City-area presence by investing $35 million and creating 110 new jobs in the next five years.
Logoplaste will make Kansas City its U.S. manufacturing and distribution hub. The company makes rigid plastic packaging for customers and industries that include the food and beverage, personal care, household care, and oil and lubricant sectors. Logoplaste has 67 facilities in 17 countries.
The company moved to Kansas City in 2013, spending $31.5 million on a 200,000-square-foot facility at 6920 Executive Drive in the East Bottoms, the Kansas City Business Journal reported at the time. In 2013, the company projected creating 80 jobs locally. After the expansion, it expects to employ 185.
