One Call Care Management, a leading provider of workers’ compensation care management services, has selected the Springfield Region to expand its operations. The Jacksonville, FL-based company is utilizing an existing Springfield building and will create 100 new, full-time jobs by the end of 2017, with additional growth expected in the future.
“This is a great addition to the Springfield region,” said CEO of Missouri Partnership Steve Johnson. “One Call Care Management is a wonderful company, and we are very excited to welcome them to Missouri. This was a project that required coordination at all levels, and the joint efforts of the Springfield Regional Economic Partnership, the State and our team was excellent.”
A company with operations throughout the country, One Call was attracted to the region’s central location and established healthcare industry. The company came into contact with the Springfield Regional Economic Partnership with the assistance of Dallas based consulting firm, Site Selection Group. Corporate officials visited the region to meet with the Missouri Partnership and area leaders from Springfield’s Partnership for Economic Development, which includes the Chamber, City of Springfield, City Utilities, and Greene County, as well as local healthcare employers and training providers, such as Ozarks Technical Community College, to ensure Springfield could provide the skilled workforce required to meet their staffing needs.
Knowing they would be able to access the right talent, One Call ultimately chose the Springfield Region and will be operating out of the 65,000 sq. ft. former UnitedHealthcare facility in south Springfield. The company plans to have the location up and running in late summer.
“One Call utilizes clinical oversight to help create better outcomes for employers and injured workers, so making sure we can hire and train candidates in Springfield who can provide this kind of specialized service was critical to our decision. Finding an available ‘plug and play’ building in Springfield meant we could fast track our new service center for our customers,” said Chris Watson, chief operating officer of One Call Care Management.
Attraction and expansion project success stories like One Call speak to the economic growth and overall strength of the Springfield Region. The region’s business climate, infrastructure, and skilled workforce continue to help spur capital investment and job creation, while also encouraging the development of new available sites and buildings.
