Missouri created more jobs during the month of August than all but two other states and had the best job creation performance of all Midwestern states, while the state’s percentage increase for the month was the best in the nation, according to data released today by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).
Missouri created 17,900 new jobs during the month of August, trailing only the states of Texas and Florida. At the same time, Missouri 0.7 percent increase of new jobs created from July to August tied with Oklahoma and Hawaii for the best percent increase in the U.S.
