Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation Dedicates a Week to Manufacturing Careers, Showcasing Missouri’s Industry Strength

Manufacturing is one of Missouri’s largest and most vital industries, employing nearly 285,000 Missourians across the state. From advanced aerospace and automotive production to everyday consumer goods, Missouri manufacturers are shaping the future.

On National Manufacturing Day, Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation brings together eighth-grade students from across the county for an inside look at the companies and professionals powering the region’s economy. For a well-rounded look at the manufacturing sector, students tour major facilities and participate in interactive exhibits and hands-on activities. Tours include Laclede Chain, DRIV/Tenneco, Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing, and JL Houston. These tours provide a firsthand look at modern technologies, advanced processes, and the wide range of careers available right in their backyard.

Now in its sixth year, Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation is expanding National Manufacturing Day into a weeklong celebration of local industry driving innovation, supporting communities, and opening doors for the skilled workforce of tomorrow. Throughout the week, Nodaway County Economic Development Corporation will “Spotlight the local companies whose innovation, dedication, and hard work drive our region forward. These businesses create jobs and build high-quality products that support our community and beyond.”

Across the state, events like Nodaway County’s Manufacturing Week shine a spotlight on the critical role the industry plays in Missouri’s economy. With a skilled workforce, central location, and supportive business climate, Missouri continues to be a top choice for manufacturers looking to grow and expand.

By introducing students to these opportunities early, communities are helping ensure that Missouri’s manufacturing sector remains strong for generations to come.
