Missouri continues to deliver more than you expect. More global industries. More diverse assets. More talent. All month long, Missouri Partnership is celebrating “more” by taking a look back at some of Missouri’s biggest stories in economic development from 2021.
In August, Chewy, Inc., a pet supply company, cut the ribbon on a new 800,000 square foot eCommerce fulfillment center in Belton, Missouri.
“Congratulations to Chewy, Inc. on its expansion,” Governor Mike Parson said. “The 1,600 new job opportunities this company is bringing to our state will benefit Missourians in the Kansas City region for generations to come. This facility represents one of Chewy’s largest fulfillment centers in the company’s network, and we are proud to welcome them to our state.”
The online retailer of pet food and pet-related products said that the investment will create more than 1,600 new jobs in the region.
“We are thrilled to open our first fulfillment center in Missouri and incredibly thankful for the partnership we received from the State of Missouri, City of Belton, Missouri Partnership, and Northpoint Development,” said Pete Krillies, Vice President of Real Estate, Facilities and Procurement at Chewy. “As new members of this community, we look forward to growing our Chewy team and our investment of 1,200 new jobs in this region.”
