Record year for jobs and capital investment: FY2014 was a record-setting year for new job creation and capital investment from growing companies partnering with the state to expand.

Largest-ever expansion in Missouri: Cerner expanded in Kansas City, creating 16,000 jobs and investing $4.45 billion, making it the largest expansion in the history of the state.

Area Development Gold Shovel award: Missouri was one of five states to win a Gold Shovel from Area Development magazine for attracting high-value investment projects. Missouri was especially recognized for its strengths across diverse industry sectors including automotive, bioscience, information technology, energy, advanced manufacturing, life science and transportation logistics.

Only state to win three CiCi awards: Missouri was the recipient of three 2014 Corporate Investment & Community Impact (CiCi) Awards by Trade & Industry Development magazine. Monsanto Company in St. Louis was selected as a winner in the Corporate Investment division, while the eFactory in Springfield and Cerner Corporation in Kansas City won awards in the Community Impact division. Missouri was the only state to receive three CiCi Awards.

Most Certified Work-Ready Communities: In 2012, Missouri was selected as one of the first four states to participate in the Certified Work Ready Communities initiative by American College Testing (ACT). The state now leads the nation in the number of fully certified counties; six are fully certified and 43 are actively participating.

#1 state economic development group: AEDI/Pollina Corporate recognized Missouri for having the top state economic development organization in the nation.

Missouri Partnership named “best in class”: The Missouri Partnership was nationally recognized as a best in class economic development organization by DCI.
