Two Missouri companies recently ranked among the nation’s Best Workplaces for Women. Edward Jones ranked 5th on the list compiled by Fortune, while Veterans United Home Loans ranked 11th. Both companies also recently made Fortune’s list of Best Workplaces for Millennials.
Edward Jones, a financial services company, is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. Missouri is a leader in banking, investment and financial services, and is the only state to house two Federal Reserve Banks. In fact, St. Louis has the second highest concentration of financial securities brokerage firms in the nation’s 20 largest metros, surpassed only by New York City.
Veterans United Home Loans is headquartered in Columbia, Missouri, and has been investing throughout the state. The company recently announced plans to invest in their current operation in Columbia, and also invest in new locations in Jefferson City and St. Louis, adding more than 500 new jobs in the process.
“Providing our employees with a workplace environment in which they can thrive both professionally and personally is a cornerstone of our culture at Veterans United Home Loans,” said Dr. Amanda Andrade, Chief People Officer at Veterans United. “This year with the pandemic, we have experienced a whole set of unexpected challenges to ensure we are keeping our employees safe while providing the best possible customer service to our borrowers. Maintaining our culture of inclusiveness, even from a social distance, has remained at the forefront of our commitment to our employees.”
The list considered feedback from more than 4.9 million employees at Great Place to Work-Certified organizations. The evaluation includes more than 60 elements, including employees’ trust for leaders and fairness of workplace decisions.
