Missouri-based Burns & McDonnell and Boeing have been awarded more than $4 billion in defense contracts from the U.S. Navy and Department of Defense.
Burns & McDonnell were awarded a $20 million contract from the Navy to provide fire-protection services for U.S. Navy facilities in the Pacific region. Additionally, as part of the contract, Burns & McDonnell will evaluate facilities for fire safety and design any recommended improvements.
Meanwhile, Boeing was awarded a $4 billion modification contract by the Department of Defenseto produce 78 F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets for the U.S. Navy. This comes on the heels of more than $10 billion in defense contract the company announced in late 2018 including a $9.2 billion by the U.S. Air Force to produce the T-X trainer jet, an $805 million contract to build the Navy’s first four MQ-25 unmanned tankers and a contact, worth up to $2.38 billion, to manufacture the Air Force’s Huey replacement helicopter.
