Seven Missouri cities are among the best-performing in the nation for creating and sustaining jobs and economic growth in 2010 according to the Milken Institute.
St. Louis, Kansas City, and Springfield ranked 44th, 60th, and 67th, respectively, among large cities. St. Joseph (21st) and Columbia (22nd) were included in the top 25 small cities, while Joplin (33rd) and Jefferson City (88th) made the top 100.
St. Louis, which ranked 128th among large cities last year, experienced the second-biggest ascent among the 200 largest U.S. citiies, after Clarksville, Tenn., which climbed 97 spots from 136th to 39th.
