St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri, were ranked among the top 50 cities in the U.S. for clean energy jobs, according to a new report from Environmental Entrepreneurs, a Washington, D.C.-based group of business owners, investors and others who advocate for policies that benefit the environment.
St. Louis ranked 23rd on the list with 26,237 clean energy jobs, including 19,458 in energy efficiency and 2,491 in renewable energy, while Kansas City ranks 33rd with 18,437 clean energy jobs, including 13,256 in energy efficiency and 2,359 in renewable energy.
Clean jobs are considered to be in solar energy, wind energy, energy efficiency, combined heat and power, non-woody biomass, low-impact hydropower, geothermal, clean vehicles, energy storage, grid modernization and advanced biofuels, the report said.
