Located in northeast Missouri, Heartland Industrial Park is a 72-acre certified site, zoned for light industrial projects. It sits within an enhanced enterprise zone and is owned by the Macon County Economic Development Corporation.
A certified site in Missouri requires the ground be mostly clear and level, be at least 25 acres, be intended for business use, have at least a six-inch water main, industrial capacity sanitary sewer, and three-phase 12 kilovolt electric infrastructure.
This Macon site has the capacity for 2,000 gallons per day (GPD) water due to an onsite 1-million-gallon hydro-pillar water tower, 1.5 million GPD of sewer treatment, natural gas via a 6-inch gas main, an 12.47 kv of electricity. All utilities are provided by Macon Municipal Utilities and an existing electric substation is directly adjacent to the site.
The site is just one mile from the intersection of two major four-lane highways, U.S. 63, which runs north and south, and U.S. 36, and east and west connection between Chicago and Kansas City. Additionally, Macon is a two-and-a-half-hour drive from both the St. Louis Lambert International Airport and the Kansas City International Airport, and just 27 miles from the Kirksville Regional Airport.
