Missouri was honored with Business Facilities’ 2023 Impact Award for American Foods Group’s (AFG) $800 million investment in the state. With plans to create 1,300 new jobs and a projected annual economic impact of $1 billion in the region, AFG is sure to make a difference in the rural community of Warren County, Missouri.
According to Business Facilities, “These awards showcase corporate relocation and expansion investments that are having, or are expected to have, a significant impact on the communities in which they are located.” AFG was the winner in the Food Manufacturing Category.
The 775,000 sq. ft. facility is currently under construction and is expected to be fully operational in January 2025. AFG has already given back to its future Missouri community. In 2023, the family owners pledged $2 million to the Wright City R-II School District to help with the construction of a football stadium at the district’s new high school through the Rosen Family Foundation. They also donated $150,000 to the Warrenton High School Agriculture Department. The mission of the Rosen Family Foundation is to promote and enhance the quality of life in the community it serves.
This isn’t the first time AFG has been honored for its significant community impact in Warren County.
In 2023, the Hawthorn Foundation honored AFG with its inaugural Project of the Year Award due to its extensive capital investment, significant community impact, and showcasing of Missouri’s collaborative spirit.
In 2022, Trade and Industry Development honored AFG with its Community Impact Award, which recognizes projects from all over the U.S. that bring extensive capital investment or influential community impact – or both – to help shape the communities in which they are located.
