Centene Corp., a Missouri-based health innovation company, broke ground on its new $770 million expansion in St. Louis, Missouri. The expansion is the first phase of Centene’s plans to expand in Missouri, and will make way for office space and parking to accommodate 2,000 additional workers the company plans to add over the coming years.
Additional plans for the expansion include a 28-story office building and a 34-story office tower with space for a hotel, retail and parking.
Centene Corp. is the nation’s largest managed care company. Its core business is working with state governments to provide insurance to low-income residents covered by Medicaid. Centene currently employs approximately 1,000 employees at the company’s global headquarters in St. Louis.
