A St. Joseph scrap metal company plans on building a $13 million facility in Kansas City.
On Tuesday, Midwest Scrap Management Inc. announced it selected contractors to build a non-ferrous — meaning all scrap metals that aren’t iron or steel — recovery system at its shredding facility at 8116 Wilson Road in Kansas City. A release from the company said the facility is expected to be completed by August.
Kenny Burgess, the company’s founder and CEO, said the expansion of the Kansas City facility, which arrived in 2005, will allow his company to continue to grow. Midwest Scrap Management recently completed a $25 million expansion at its shredder facility in Park City, Kan.
