Meta, formerly known as the Facebook company, is getting recognition for its impact on Missouri through the Business Facilities Deal Of The Year and Impact Awards. The annual awards highlight the largest and most impactful economic development announcements in the U.S.
In March 2022, Meta announced plans to build its newest hyperscale data center in Kansas City, Missouri. The new data center is currently under construction, and it’s the first of its kind in Missouri. Meta is investing more than $800 million and supporting up to 100 jobs in the region.
“Meta is excited to call Kansas City our new home. It stands out with so much to offer – good access to infrastructure and fiber, a strong pool of talent for both construction and operations, and more than anything, great community partners,” said Darcy Nothnagle, Director of Community and Economic Development at Meta. “Meta is committed to being a good neighbor and investing in the long-term vitality of the region for years to come.”
Business Facilities selected Meta as the winner of its 2022 Impact Awards in the category of Data Centers. A panel of nationally recognized site consultants participated in selecting this year’s winners. Full coverage of the 2022 Deal Of The Year and Impact Awards will be featured in the January/February issue of Business Facilities.
