The company will initially occupy more than 100,000 square feet of a new 300,000 square foot Class A industrial facility, and lease the remaining space until it is needed — allowing the company to “future-proof” its long-term growth.
Founded in 1921, Tnemec produces more than 120 architectural and industrial coatings used for abrasion, chemical and corrosion resistance, interior linings, seamless flooring and wall systems, and fluid-applied thermal insulation.
Tnemec’s expansion plans come on the heels of multiple business acquisitions in recent years and a goal to double its annual production capacity by 2030.
Tnemec currently employs around 200 people in the Kansas City area, and expect to create as many as 110 new jobs with the new expansion.
