MC Power, of Lee’s Summit and Sedalia, will be in Marshall on Aug. 27 to break ground for a new 3.25 megawatt solar farm.
Located off U.S. Route 65, the 15-acre solar farm is anticipated to be completed by the end of the year.It is planned to provide enough power for approximately 350 homes in Marshall. Around 10 percent of the energy consumed in Marshall will come from the solar farm.
MC Power is no newcomer to creating solar farms in Missouri. In July, construction was completed on a 3.2 megawatt solar farm in Macon, Mo., and during that same month, construction began on a solar farm in Trenton, Mo., which is anticipated to be complete in late 2016.
