WireCo WorldGroup, a leading global manufacturer of both steel and synthetic rope, specialty wire and engineered products, is expanding their manufacturing facility near Sedalia, Missouri. The expansion represents $14 million in capital investment and is expected to bring more than 30 new jobs to the region.
“Our plant in Sedalia has a long-established history of producing products for the most demanding applications”, said Philip Crouse, senior vice president of North American operations. “The expertise to manufacture such ropes takes years to establish and requires a reliable workforce. When we were looking for the ideal location to centralize our U.S. rope manufacturing of these technical products, it made the most sense to choose a location where we had an infrastructure established and a relationship with the community. Sedalia was the right choice.”
The expansions will add approximately 90,000 sq. ft. to the existing facility to enhance the volume and number of products currently made. New products will include fine wire products, crane and large mining ropes, and structural strand used in architecture and suspension bridges.
With its strategic location, globally connected infrastructure, competitive business and labor costs, highly-skilled and hard working talent, quality of life and a statewide commitment to attracting companies and investment, Missouri is a place where companies come to grow and thrive.
