Fortune Magazine just released its first “100 Best Workplaces for Millennials” list and four Missouri-based companies made the cut.
According to Fortune, the four companies where Missouri millennials should start submitting applications are: Edward Jones; World Wide Technology; Burns & McDonnell; and Build-A-Bear Workshop. All four companies were also recently named to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For list, which is published yearly.
Edward Jones, headquartered in St. Louis, is ranked at No. 10 and is noted for giving employees advice and guidance for work/life balance with a strong focus on developing talent. The company workforce currently includes 19 percent millennials.
World Wide Technology, headquartered in St. Louis, is ranked at No. 12. Fortune reports that WWT reimburses employees for college tuition up to $20,000, and pays half of tuition expenses for job related courses. The company workforce currently includes 36 percent millennials.
Burns & McDonnell, headquartered in Kansas City, is ranked at No. 14. Fortune notes that the company’s employee owned status has a positive impact on its culture. The company workforce includes 45 percent millennials.
Build-A-Bear Workshop, also headquartered in St. Louis, is ranked at No. 45 and is noted for giving employees their birthdays a day off work. The company workforce already includes 77 percent millennials.
All four companies were also recently named to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For in 2015 list, which is published yearly.
