Ford Motor Co.’s Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo will begin operating around the clock as the company prepares to hire 900 more workers to fill another F-150 production shift, The Wall Street Journal reports.
The move comes on the heels of the plant’s overhaul, which is being made in order to accommodate the production of the Ford Transit, a new commercial van. That renovation in itself ads another 1,100 workers and puts the company’s investment in the facilities at more than $1.1 billion, the report says.
