Just under one year ago The Kraft Heinz Company cut-the-ribbon on its new $250 million expanded food-processing facility in Kirksville, Missouri. Now, a year later, Kraft Heinz has announced the plant is up to 900 employees, more than doubling its number of employees.
The plant is Kraft Heinz’s sole domestic producer of bologna, white round turkey, cotto salami and square-cut ham, with an estimated output of nearly one million packages per day.
Missouri’s robust food production sector includes more than 300 companies, with the capacity for many more, due to Missouri’s leading role in agricultural products including rice, soybeans, corn, sorghum, cattle, turkeys and hogs.
