Expansions Create New Jobs, Investment for Missouri

Thomson Reuters, Bonfyre Inc., JCI Industries, CenturyLink, and Raymond James & Associates have all announced plans to move to or expand in Missouri

More than 80 new jobs and $3 million in capital investment have been announced in the past two weeks as numerous companies announced their plans to expand operations in Missouri.

Thomson Reuters, Bonfyre Inc., and JCI Industries each announced plans to expand their current workforce in Missouri, while CenturyLink and Raymond James & Associates each opened their first offices in the state.

Thomson Reuters, a major multinational business information and media firm, announced plans to add 20 high-paying jobs to its Creve Coeur campus. The new positions will include a manager, team leads, and several network engineers, each are expected to be filled within the next few months.

Bonfyre Inc., a private social communication platform, announced plans to double its workforce from 12 to 24 employees this year. The tech startup has seen major growth since the company was founded in 2012. Some of its clients include Express Scripts, Centene, and Enterprise Holdings.

JCI Industries, a supplier of industrial pumps, motors and other equipment has more than doubled the size of its Lee’s Summit production facility and plans to add 31 new jobs over the next six years. The expansion represents more than $3 million in capital investment and will increase JCI’s footprint in Lee’s Summit to 82,000 square feet.

CenturyLink, a Louisiana-based cloud and IT services company, opened a new development center near Town & Country which will house 190 employees with a possible expansion to about 40 more. Employees at the new 46,000-square-foot center will focus on automating and developing managed services for business customers.

Raymond James & Associates is a diversified financial services holding company with subsidiaries engaged primarily in investment and financial planning, in addition to investment banking and asset management. The company opened its first office in the Kansa City area with plans to start a hiring process soon.
