Cleveland-based chemicals firm Vectra, formerly known as OM Group, announced Monday it would be moving its headquarters to St. Louis.
Vectra is a specialty chemicals company that includes three businesses — Vacuumschmelze, EaglePicher Technologies and Borchers.
The corporate staff, which will relocate to St. Louis, has about 30 employees. According to Crain’s Cleveland Business, the company is eyeing 11,000 square feet in a downtown building, with a move in date targeted for early next year.
“The relocation and the name change to VECTRA are emblematic of the new strategic direction we are undertaking to accelerate the growth of the businesses and drive them to their full potential,” said Vectra CEO and President Jim Voss, who lives near St. Louis and joined the company following its $1 billion acquisition by a joint venture of Apollo Global Management Group and Platform Specialty Products Corp.
