Boeing Co. won a long-sought decision by the Navy to keep buying its F/A-18 Super Hornet for several years after the company knocked 10% off the fighter jet’s price, saving the Pentagon about $590 million.
The Navy told members of Congress Friday that the $5.4-billion contract for 124 Super Hornets and the electronic warfare version of the aircraft, called the E/A-18 Growler, would run for three years.
