The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) today announced that Spartan Light Metal Products, an automotive supplier, will break ground on an expansion to its facility in Audrain County. The auto supplier’s expansion project includes the creation of 88 new jobs and a capital investment of $17 million to purchase new equipment and retool the companies growing facility.
“Spartan’s decision to deepen its roots in Missouri is another testament that we have what it takes to lead the nation in the rebirth of the automotive industry,” says Mike Downing, director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development. “I’m proud to see more and more auto companies investing in the Show-Me State and benefitting from our highly skilled workforce and a competitive environment that helps them succeed and grow.”
