E-commerce giant Amazon is opening a new delivery center in Blue Springs, Missouri. Amazon anticipates full operations will begin late this year at the facility.
“This facility will not only bring jobs to Blue Springs, but it also fills a vacant industrial building in our community,” said Blue Springs Mayor Carson Ross. “We are proud to see companies like Amazon investing in our community and creating more opportunities for our residents.”
“We look forward to becoming part of the fabric of the Blue Springs community and are thrilled to be able to expand our operations in Missouri,” said Amazon Spokeswoman Nikki Wheeler. “Amazon is a great place to work and grow professionally. We’re grateful for the support we’ve received from local and state leaders and look forward to creating new, full-time jobs for the local community.”
Amazon has been investing heavily in Missouri in recent months. In February, Amazon announced plans to open a new “sort center” in St. Louis, and in November, Amazon announced its newest distribution and fulfillment center in Republic.
In 2018, Amazon opened its first fulfillment center in the state in St. Peters, bringing more than 1,500 jobs to the region. The company also put more than 1,000 Missourians back to work following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Missouri is a “Prime” location for the E-commerce company due to its central location in the U.S., low cost of doing business, and highly-skilled labor force.
