Amazon, the global leader in Internet retail, is expanding into Missouri with it’s first two locations. The sortation and delivery centers will be located in the Hazelwood Logistics Center in Hazelwood, Missouri. Amazon is expected to bring 34 new full time jobs to the region, and more than 350 part time jobs.
“I’m proud to welcome Amazon to our state,” said Missouri Governor Eric Greitens. “Their new sortation center and delivery station will create jobs for hard-working Missourians. They recognize that Missouri is open for business. We look forward to Amazon opening its doors in Missouri and to the many possibilities that come from this move.”
Amazon will occupy more than 448,000 sq. ft. of space between the two buildings. Missouri Partnership was honored to support the City of Hazelwood on this project.
“The City of Hazelwood welcomes Amazon and believes its community is the best location for doing business in the state of Missouri,” said Hazelwood City Manager Matthew Zimmerman. “We have a reputation for having a strong industrial base and a great business climate for companies to expand and grow. Amazon’s move to Hazelwood reflects the success of our City’s economic development program in attracting businesses, both large and small, to our area.”
