Melton Machine & Control Co., an advanced manufacturing company, recently announced plans to expand in Washington, Missouri. The new 300,000 sq. ft. expansion will enable the company to double its working capacity, and add at least 40 new employees.
Melton Machine is expected to break ground in September and move into its new facility by 2020. Melton Machine manufactures automated robotic welding equipment for a variety of industries, though it’s primarily focused on automotive.
Across the state, Missouri talent drives automotive manufacturing into the future with significant production from Ford and GM. Missouri’s automotive manufacturing plants are strategically located on the North American Automotive Alley that stretches from Toronto to Mexico City, and Missouri’s Kansas City area is the second largest automotive trade hub behind Detroit, according to Brookings.
