Maryville Carbon Solutions, an advanced manufacturing company, celebrated the grand opening of their manufacturing facility in Maryville, Missouri. The facility has undergone a nearly $10 million refitting process, and expects to employ 35 to 40 workers.
Maryville Carbon Solutions manufactures carbon black, a coloring and reinforcing agent used to manufacture an almost endless list of rubber and plastic products from gaskets, to wetsuits, to conveyor belts and more. Additionally, Maryville Carbon Solutions announced plans to produce syngas, a type of fuel gas, and lubricant-grade oil at the plant.
At full production Maryville Carbon Solutions will be able to process up to 1 million scrap tires a year, enough to produce 7 million pounds of carbon black and 1.2 million gallons of oil.
