Adarza BioSystems, a life-science startup located in the BioGenerator, is partnering with SunEdison’s Semiconductor business to establish a immunoassay consumable manufacturing facility at SunEdison’s St. Peters office.
The Adarza site should open in the first quarter of 2015. Shortly after, Adarza plans to ship its products to customers.
Adarza CEO Rand Henke said the Semiconductor site will provide clean-room facilities and expertise that are a good fit with Adarza.
Adarza develops and manufactures immunoassay technology that can identify proteins and genetic markers in medical samples such as blood. The technology, which comes in the form of microchips, can help with cancer diagnostics and allergy testing, among other applications.
