Business News

While the COVID-19 pandemic has caused companies across the world to lay off workers, many companies in Missouri have continued to see their local workforces grow. Centene Corp., a health innovation company located in St. Louis, Missouri, has increased its local employment by about 17% year over year.

According to the company, Centene has added jobs in IT, data analytics, accounting and finance, and population health. Some other large employers that saw year-over-year local employment growth were Wells Fargo, St. Luke’s Hospital and BJC HealthCare.

This growth is due in large part to Missouri’s highly trained and skilled workforce. At more than 3 million strong, Missouri’s talent pool is deeper, more qualified, and more prepared to deliver the level of talent companies need to succeed.

In fact, in 2019, Missouri used a comprehensive strategic approach to take workforce training to the next level. And we moved ahead of Alabama, Louisiana, Tennessee and Georgia in customized training.

Missouri talent is top-tier and highly skilled in key growth areas, including advanced manufacturing, agtech, logistics and more. Home to many certified work ready communities, Missouri employees are hard-working, conscientious, engaged in workforce training opportunities, and display adaptability to technology and workforce evolution.

Additionally, Missouri’s competitive cost of living and vibrant culture enables employers to provide employees with a high quality of life at a lower cost than almost anywhere in the U.S. With so much to offer, it is no wonder several Missouri companies continue to grow during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Let us show you what Missouri’s highly skilled talent can do to help your company grow.
