singht96In what may come as a surprise to some, St. Charles County is among the best in the nation when it comes to tech job growth.

That’s according to recent data published by the Progressive Policy Institute (PCI), a Washington, D.C.-based think tank.

The PCI index, which is based on number of jobs added in the tech and information industries from 2011 to 2014 relative to the size of the local economy, lists St. Charles County as the 24th fastest growing county for such jobs, growing tech and info jobs by 19.4 percent.

The PCI report called St. Charles County an “unexpectedly strong performer” thanks to a thriving aerospace supplier industry. Over the last few years, St. Charles County has seen such aerospace expansions including LMI Aerospace and Seyer Industries.
