The Hawthorn Foundation, a highly diverse group of Missouri leaders dedicated to the development of a vibrant economy for the state of Missouri, announced recently that it has officially launched a new website and brand refresh. According to Margaret Onken, Hawthorn’s Interim Executive Director, the new look is more closely aligned to the foundation’s strategic vision for growth.

Hawthorn’s new website—aside from being aesthetically pleasing—is more agile, reader-friendly and easier to navigate. One of the main goals with the redesign was to help people get to know Hawthorn better, which is why the new site enables members and those interested in Hawthorn to quickly find information. It also features a responsive design, meaning the site is now optimized for both desktop computers and mobile devices.

The Hawthorn Foundation was formed in 1982 to facilitate participation between Missouri-based businesses and community leaders in statewide business recruitment, retention and development efforts. Hawthorn’s role is to partner with the Missouri Department of Economic Development to facilitate and attract businesses to the Show-Me state. The Foundation has experienced great success in bringing innovation to Missouri’s economic development strategy by collaborating with Missouri governors, the Missouri Department of Economic Development and a myriad of local and regional economic development organizations to create and support cutting-edge initiatives focused on expanding economic opportunities for the state.

The Hawthorn Foundation is a private 501(c)(6) not-for-profit corporation. It is managed by an independent, non-partisan board of approximately 30 director–investors who represent many of Missouri’s leading businesses, communities and economic development organizations. Although Hawthorn was formed to support the work of the Governor and the Department of Economic Development, it does not lobby or actively advance any political agenda.
