MasterCard has added an in-app payment system to its digital wallet service, MasterPass.

The new set of capabilities, built by developers working in MasterCard’s O’Fallon, Mo., Operations Center, was debuted at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

The MasterPass in-app payments system will extend the capabilities of the current browser-based MasterPass into the mobile app environment, said John Sivill, senior vice president of emerging payments technology for MasterCard.
