St. Louis ranked fourth in Manufacturers’ News Inc.’s list of the top U.S. cities by number of manufacturing jobs as of Jan. 1.
According to the list, St. Louis has 80,795 manufacturing jobs, down 2.8 percent from their numbers on last year’s list.

Houston, New York and Chicago take the top three spots, with 235,038, 140,952 and 107,26 job respectively. Kansas City ranked 33rd on the list with 40,443 manufacturing jobs, just slightly more than half of the number of manufacturing jobs in St. Louis.
