One of the most important factors to consider when expanding your business in a new location, at least for your future employees, is quality of life. Factors such as housing costs and quality of the healthcare available are important in drawing in new talent to an area.
Missouri’s low cost of living, natural environment, history and culture, and abundance of local attractions provide our residents with fun and excitement all year round. And now a new top-tier destination is getting ready to opens its doors in Missouri.
The $187 million St. Louis Aquarium at Union Station is scheduled to open later this year, and will bring with it an experience like few others in the world. The two-story, 120,000 sq. ft. aquarium will feature more than 13,000 animals in more than 1 million gallons of water, sourced from local waterways, and will be located in the newly redesigned Union Station complex.
In addition to the aquarium, the Union Station complex will feature a Ferris wheel, mini golf, numerous restaurants, a carousel and other amenities for guests to enjoy. The entertainment complex is expected to generate 200 jobs at the aquarium alone and create about $100 million in annual revenue, said Bob O’Loughlin, chairman and CEO of Lodging Hospitality Management, which owns and is developing the complex.
“St. Louis is the largest city in the United States without an aquarium,” O’Loughlin said.”It will have a significant impact on the region.”
What all of this means is that Missouri not only will provide you with a great place to do business, but also with a great place to live.
