8760 Service Group expands in Sedalia, creating 40 plus new jobs

SEDALIA, Mo.—The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) today announced that 8760 Service Group, a local manufacturer, will increase its workforce and relocate to a larger facility in Sedalia, making this their corporate headquarters. The company’s expansion project includes a $4 million capital investment and is expected to create in excess of 40 positions within the next year.

“With its skilled, hardworking, and growing labor pool, Sedalia makes a great environment for high-tech companies like 8760 Service Group to grow and succeed,” said Mike Downing, director of DED. “This company’s decision to reinvest in Missouri and bring more good jobs to the area will have a profound impact on Sedalia and the surrounding community. DED is proud to be a partner in its expansion.”

8760 Service Group, founded in 2010, provides maintenance, construction, and fabrication services to the power plant, manufacturing, and biofuel industries. With a growing demand for its services, 8760 Service Group is expanding to a 28,000-square-foot facility. Currently employing 30 team members, the company plans to more than double its team with additional positions including: sales, recruiting, project managers, superintendents, general foreman, drafting, machine operators, welder fabricators, welders, riggers and electrical positions.

“This is a great community and opportunity to build our corporate headquarters and fabrication facility,” said Buck Barnes, owner. “8760 Service Group’s growth is due to so many things such as a great local and domestic client base; the best team members a company could ask for; and, a business-friendly environment with outstanding business partner cooperation. In Sedalia, we enjoy a great atmosphere for our company.”

“We are pleased that 8760 Service Group has chosen Sedalia to establish their corporate headquarters,” said Sedalia Mayor Stephen Galliher. “Our companies are a huge part of the growth we are experiencing because they are able to provide much needed customer service to our manufacturing sector.”

“This construction of 8760 Service Group’s corporate headquarters will be a great addition to our community. This is even more exciting to have them locate in Thompson Meadows Industrial Park, which is a Missouri Certified Site and an ATT Fiber Park,” said Economic Development Board President Rusty Kahrs. “The Certified Site, along with our enhanced enterprise zone and the state’s Missouri Works incentive program helped to bring about the decision for this company to be able to come to Sedalia and Pettis County.”

To assist the 8760 Service Group with its expansion in Sedalia, the Missouri Department of Economic Development offered a strategic economic incentive package that the company can receive if it meets strict job creation and investment criteria. Economic Development Sedalia-Pettis County, the City of Sedalia and Pettis County also provided assistance to make 8760 Service Group’s expansion possible.
