Boeing’s first two, Missouri-made, T-X trainer aircraft took part in their first joint test flight in the skies over Missouri. Boeing’s Defense, Space & Security division unveiled the new T-X advanced pilot trainer, which is co-developed by Saab, in 2016 in the hope of winning a coveted contract with the U.S. Air Force.
The T-X trainer program is a top priority for the U.S. Air Force, and initial acquisition is expected to include more than 300 aircraft along with the associated ground training and support. Boeing currently produces the F-15 Strike Eagle, EA-18 Growler, and F/A-18 Super Hornet aircraft at its Defense, Space and Security facilities in St. Louis, Missouri.
